In Color❤️💕

Jamey Johnson said it best: “If it looks like we were scared to death. Like a couple of kids just trying to save each other. You should’ve seen it in color.” There is nothing like a sweet reminder of just how precious a moment is, and you don’t even realize it until it is a memory. Celebrated my Birthday in color today. What better way than to have a vibrant cluster of colors that reminded me of confetti 🎉 It’s all about the simple, but bold details that go into an outfit that make it so exhilarating for its’ beholder. This top, with adorable embroidered sleeves had me at hello. Not to mention the cutout with the cutest little tassel additions in the back. I’ll just go ahead and tell you that I’m a sucker for anything with a cutout, lowback, or some sort of detail that makes it unique to an outfit. The high-low of the cut on this top helps to give it a defined waist (my must have in a top, dress, or any other article of clothing I ever place on my body.) I’m also a sucker for some stripes, too! I got everything I love all wrapped into one piece. Anthropologie killed the game with this one. (And the sleeves.. UGH dying over here.) If you caught my last post, I mentioned that color is in for spring.. and when I say color I mean all of them, together, in every way, shape, form and fashion. As you can see, the more the merrier with color on this top. Love it! I’m not usually a bold color statement kind of girl (especially in the loud yellow I featured in my last post.) However, that’s exactly why I chose it. Branching out is good, trying new things is also good. Don’t be afraid to be something you normally aren’t. I told ya that my favorite thing about clothing/ accessories is that you can be whoever you want to be. Decide what to be, and go be it! Nobody can stop you. I paired the top with a plain, dark wash jean, and my most favorite recent purchase: scalloped Jack Rogers booties. These little beauts have been on my “to buy” list for quite some time. Only do I ever buy anything not on sale? The answer to that question is blatantly obvious. On my spring break trip to the sunshine state I scored these cute little booties at Dillard’s. Wanna guess what I paid for them? $49.99 is the answer to that question. I know, I basically stole them. I was ECSTATIC! Sadly, in Florida you can find the best deals on things of this nature because the people who shop in Florida don’t have the weather for these types of articles in their closet. Here in KY it’s more difficult to find deals because they know we always have the weather for such items, and for that matter they never go on sale. Bummer, I know.. but you just have to learn to beat the system. The scallops are precious, and let me just say once you go cognac you never go back. No kidding, it’s the most versatile color. If you don’t own any do yourself a favor and go find some, RIGHT NOW! If I can’t find anything to go with what I’m wearing.. I can easily go to a pair of cognac shoes or add a cognac purse and the outfit is polished, and completed.. every. single. time. I kid you not, the color is a must have for any time of year! Lastly, my Bourbon and Bowties bangles are always, ALWAYS on my wrist. They’re the perfect addition to every outfit. Gold, bold, and just the best little bangles. This birthday girl is ending her day with some delicious cake and calling it a night. My girl Kate Spade said it best: “eat cake for breakfast.” But I’d like to know if eating cake for a midnight snack would she consider acceptable as well? One might never know, but I know I think it’s a pretty great way to end a birthday! Links are always below. XOXO
