Where were you when the world stopped turning sixteen years ago today? I was sitting in my third grade math class learning about multiplication when we got the heart wrenching news. I know most everyone remembers exactly where they were, and how this horrible situation made them feel. My teacher cried as we watched the catastrophic events take place on the tv in our classroom. Seeing as I was only in third grade, I didn’t fully understand the magnitude of what was happening, and how it would be an event that brings great sadness to our country even sixteen years later. Still, to this day it is so tragic to think about the innocent people who lost their lives on 9/11, and for the families who still grieve the loss of their loved ones because of this tragic series of events. So, in this post I wanted to show my respect and appreciation for this amazing country I get to call home. I will proudly wear red, white, and blue in honor of my country to show how thankful I am to live in the land of the free because of the brave. So, thank you to those who serve that give me the rights that this country promises to it’s people. Thank you, to those men and women who sacrificed themselves to help others in need September 11th, 2001. All I can say is how truly thankful I am to live in a country that fights to defend and protect all those who reside in it. I’ll end with this, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 Today, we remember those who laid down their lives to help others. I’m thankful today for my loved ones that I hold so dear to my heart. I don’t know about you but it makes me want to hug my loved ones just a little tighter.
